A passing of old Mac does not have to stand and gather dust, it is the French artist Monsieur Plant the ultimate proof. For he has taken "thnk Different" to a whole new level.
Christophe GUINET, as his real name, uses computers to integrate them with mother nature herself and the results are amazing.
In photo series "Plant Your Mac," he turns Macs into the home of seedlings. Even an old Mac mouse is used. GUINET is known to use art to express their own, inherent anxiety. He is also strongly critical of industrialism, commercialism, media and consumption.
In an interview with the site Cult of Mac says that he grew up in a place between town and country, which meant that both nature and the urban impact him. Furthermore, he has since age 15, gathered plants and when he moved to the city became his goal to place the plants in the most unexpected places.
In the previous series, he has climbed headphones in moss and integrated Nike shoes with bark, flowers and other green.
Below is a selection of what he's done with old Macs. The rest you can see if you click on his website.
