Apple has in recent months submitted applications for approval of new wireless products to American authority the FCC. They have model numbers A1844, A1845 and A1846 and many have speculated about what kind of products.

Now the FCC has approved the applications and published them, including manuals and photos from the testing of the product. It turns out about different variants of the same product: A door latch, or rather a system to unlock the doors remotely with Bluetooth Low Energy.

The little reader is a black box that is mounted inside the door frame and steering lock. Users hold up their "privileges" (presumably a pass or possibly an app) and the box shows access granted by an LED and a buzzer.

Probably box meant to be installed in the doors at Apple's new headquarters, Apple Park .
