iFixit have, as always with new Apple products, carefully picked apart the newly released, cheaper the iPad to see what is hidden inside. And just as we thought it would not seem more than a slightly souped iPad Air of first generation.

on the inside we find, among other things Macrumors noted, an 8 megapixel camera on the back, while the FaceTime camera houses the 1.2 megapixel and should be essentially the same camera that sits on Iphone SE. There are also two speakers, a headphone jack, Touch ID and Bluetooth 4.2. Also the shape is substantially the same as Case Air. Wifi module, however, has earned itself an update and is now slightly smaller, with support for MIMO.
Case (generation five, as Apple calls it) is a low-toad. 3 995 SEK buy 32 GB of storage, and – compared to Case Air 2 – a newer A9 processor and a brighter, but otherwise somewhat worse screen, when not directly laminated to the glass and no anti-reflection treatment.
it should be noted that it is not the first time Apple pry into a newer processor in an old shell. In the spring of 2016 got iPhone 5S including a new camera and A9 processor, but is otherwise nearly the same phone.
