F1 fans with Mac later this week to buy the latest version of Codemasters' F1 simulator F1 2016. The game was released in August 2016 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, followed by iOS and Android in November.
Macversionen developed by Feral Interactive and is a major upgrade compared to the last version that was released for the Mac three years ago. The new game uses including metal, Apple's modern framework for 3D graphics.
The game will be released on the Mac App Store and Steam. For players who choose the latter includes multiplayer against players that use the Windows version (via Steam), while the App Store customers will settle for Mac-to-Mac.
To play requires a fairly juicy computer. The system requirements are at least a Core I5 processor at 2.8 GHz, 8 gigabytes of memory and GeForce 680, Radeon R9 280M, Iris 540 or better. The recommended computer is a Imac 5k R9 395X (Mac Pro).
