From the well-informed Ming-Chi Kuo, analyst at KGI Securities, information about Apple's alleged plans for future Iphone models (via Macrumors) is now available. Kuo claims that Apple plans to release a cheaper version of Iphone X next year, complete with a full-screen design and Face ID flip.
But instead of an oled screen, the cheaper "Iphone X" can get one simpler but slightly larger LCD, instead of the more expensive oled technology. The screen is 6.1 inches tall, against 5.8 inches in Iphone X. However, resolution may be lower, between 320 to 330 pixels per inch to 458 in
Kuo has no information about a name on this model, but the price is reported to be between 649 and 749 dollars. In Sweden, it should mean a price of between SEK 7,495 and SEK 8,495, in line with what Iphone 8 costs today. Probably, older iPhone models will also remain as cheaper alternatives, but if the iPhone X is so low in price, it's less likely that more updated Iphone models will come with the older design that hung with the then Iphone 6.
Beside a "budget-X", Apple also releases an updated Iphone X, and possibly even a "Iphone X Plus". Kuo claims that this Plus model may have a 6.5 inch OLED display with higher resolution than ever before in an Iphone, between 480 and 500 pixels per inch.
