If you have acquired an Iphone X and started using it, you may have noticed that it behaves slightly differently from old Iphone models. When you get a note and wake up the phone to see what the case is, it will appear first without its content. All you see is which app it is, and who sent it (if it's a message from someone), and the replacement text "notify" instead of the actual content.
If you think it's annoying you can get back the old behavior where the notes appear immediately, but first an explanation of what's happening:
Iphone X is set to display only the contents of notifications when unlocked, even if notifications are set to appear on the lock screen. Because all you need to do to unlock it is to look at it – and if you look at notices – consider Apple's developer that the second it takes to unlock is worth the increased privacy, which means no unauthorized person can read your notes.
On older Iphone models, you can also enable this feature, but Apple has chosen not to have it enabled by default because it's a major step to put your finger on the home button.
You can find settings for this in Settings -> Notifications -> View Previews . On Iphone X it is set to Unlocked by default, while all previous models have Always by default. For maximum privacy protection, choose Never instead, but if you'd rather check out notifications even when Iphone X is next to you on the desktop (without having to lean over it to unlock ) you can switch to Always .
